Catholic Education was established in St. Maarten since 1890. The Foundation Catholic Education was established since 1970.

To this date,(school year 2015/2016) the Foundation for Catholic Education has 6 Primary schools and one(1) High school with a total of 1700 students under its care.

Being proud of quality education for 126 years, the board will continue to educate the total individual intellectually, spiritually, socially, emotionally and physically. Mrs. Bute:
When I was asked in March 1977 to become a board member of KOBE (Kath. Onderwijs Bovenwindse Eilanden), I did not foresee being on board for almost 37 years.  We have grown from 5 members (J. Speetjens, F. O’Connor, Chester Wathey, Zr. Marie Laurence and yours truly) to 8 members currently, (Dr. Halley, Mr. C. Peterson, Mrs. J. Richardson-Nicolaas, Mrs. Nancy Hodge, Mrs. Irene Hodge, Mrs. Millicent De Weever, Mr. Patrice Gumbs and yours truly); from 2 primary schools on St. Maarten (St. Joseph and Sr. Regina) to 6 primary schools and one high school.

It has been a pleasure working along with the other school board members to help form part of the educational growth on St. Maarten.

On the occasion of the launching of this important website I hereby congratulate the students, their parents, the complete staff at the various schools, principals, superintendents and the other school board members.  I hereby also acknowledge publicly the work that our Director of Catholic schools is doing.  Thank you Teacher Jessy.
