After Hurricane message of our director

Mrs. Lilia Aventurin-Hodge's past hurricane message after the passing of hurricane Irma and hurricane Maria.

We give thanks to the Almighty!

As we are about to bounce back to normalcy we would like to take some time out to address our staff and parents of our students with the following:

We are extremely grateful for our staff, parents and students. After the passing of two major hurricanes Irma, September 6, 2017 and Maria on September 13, 2017, some are secured and can proceed with minor setbacks, others are left devastated, some have left the island willing to return and others may not be returning. In any which way, we must pull together to rebuild our mind, body and soul, as well as our schools and Country St. Maarten.

It goes without saying; “United we stand but divided we fall”.

We have to find the Faith from within to stand and start over in many areas of our lives. This will be different for each one of us. One will be able to cope well and the other may not be able as yet to do so. Always remember that time heals all wounds. Face each day with an open mind, a joyful spirit and a forgiving heart. Rejoice yourself in the Lord and he will give you your heart’s desire.

Our students are also faced with this shift of rhythm. Our students that are entrusted to us need our guidance and time. We must fulfill our purpose by meeting their every need in as much as we can. Our schools are now a Safe Haven for many students. Let us strengthen our selves to stand strong for them. They need us and we must continue to nurture their mind, body and soul. Let us rebuild on our leading principles of Faith, Love, Modesty, Compassion, Unity and Discipline.

“We are called to follow Jesus” is our pillar of strength this school year. Jesus fell 3 times on His way to Calvary and got back up. As his followers, we have that inner strength to get back up and move forward. Praise His name!

Speech of our President, Dr. M. Halley, on the occasion of the opening of the new academic year 2017 - 2018

Dear staff of the Foundation Catholic Education.

Good morning and welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. A special welcome to all of our new staff. You have chosen a unique and dynamic place to work and we are happy to have you as part of the team.

A new school year is always a time filled with promises and possibilities…fresh opportunities to learn, grow and inspire.

Last school year your hard work has produced substantial and meaningful improvements for our students. And all this makes me believe that we can and will do even better this year. So, there is much work to be done. The challenges rests with all of us, and our achievement will depend on how we approach the work as of next week.
