Fostering International Relationshipsthrough partnership between Foundation Catholic Education St. Maarten and Gustavus Adolphus College Minnesota

In January 2016, Foundation Catholic Education began exploring possible joint ventures on the international scope. The focus was initially directed towards the Caribbean hemisphere, however around this same period a request for cooperation came from Dr. Lisa Dembouski, from the Gustavus Adolpus College, in Minnesota and the connection for this venture was established in March 2016.
The Gustavus Adolphus College is located at 800 West College Avenue, Saint Peter, Minnesota 56082. Their website is This college is a private, coeducational liberal arts college based on the evangelical Lutheran Church.
It was founded in 1862 and is guided by 5 core values, namely Excellence, Community, Justice, Service and Faith.

Foundation Catholic Education St. Maarten started further explorations with Dr. Lisa Dembouski.

A proposal was outlined and presented to Dr. Dembouski. This was presented to the officials at Gustavus Adolphus College. The idea was made concrete via further development into a formal Course proposal as part of their Stay Away Program.

This proposal was approved for 100% GO for the collaborative Course and Project with the initial implementation slated for January 2018.

Availability of the (school's) websites

The Foundation Catholic Education St. Maarten experienced serious challenges to the availability of not only her own website, but also the websites of her schools. Due to the diligent work of our website developer we were able to restore most of the websites under our foundation. The schools will now be updating their information on their websites. The Foundation would like to thank the general public for their patience.

Finland, an example?

Led by the executive director Mrs. Lilia Aventurin they embarked on a 17 hour voyage to the country of endless sights, Northern lights, countless moose and an educational system that is ranked in the top 5 of the world. The delegation will get a first hand look into what makes Finland excel in educating their population. They will also visit Mr. Pasi Sahlberg, known as the architect of the Finnish educational system.
